i tend to have a vasovagal reaction to getting my blood drawn. i don't know why, i have tattoos and piercings, but when it comes to extracting blood from me or injecting the TB vaccine into my arm, i fall out. my whole fam made fun of me when i started my career on an ambulance in las vegas. but i found that i have a real knack for it, and because i know the discomfort it causes, i feel it makes me able to empathize better with the patient and then when they tell me it's the best blood draw they've ever had, i blush and say thanks. but it feels damn good the last couple of times i had my blood drawn the phlebotomist hit a nerve in my arm that caused massive pains to shoot up to my shoulder and into my neck i was tempted to ask her if i could do it myself! :) it's an, for sure. i'm sorry you had a bad experience in my opinion, it's the easiest procedure (*that's minimally invasive, anyway*) to perform and 85% of phlebotomists and NURSES can't even do it right. go figure :)
